60 SECONDS WITH JO...
Name : Jo McIntosh
Choir Position : Soprano Singing/Performing Since..? I have been singing since I was about 7. I have always enjoyed singing as part of a group and have always been in one (or more!). I did my Grade 8 singing in my teens and went on to study singing at university and gained a BA (Hons). I was always an Alto/middle when I was younger but I seemed to keep being put on soprano! I have also dallied with the tenor horn and the flugel horn. Describe Yourself in 3 words..? Sensitive (sometimes a bit too much), good listener, strong (is that 4?!) Tell me something that inspires you..? People who have been through hellish situations and come out stronger the other side, not bitter! Name something you love..? My 2 boys. They are my world Tell me something you dislike..? Rude people – there’s no need for it What is your favourite colour..? Green What is your favourite cuisine..? Chinese takeaway If you could visit anywhere in the world where would you go..? Iceland If you could go back in time and ask one person one question who would you choose and what would you ask them..? My Nanna (Marshall)…..so many questions! She was a very wise person and always knew the right things to say, even if you were in the wrong. She was a strong woman with a very strong Christian faith and very open minded. |
If you had to describe yourself as an instrument which one would it be and why..? Probably something like a French horn. Round in shape, can tend to be loud and out front sometimes but just as happy to play a supporting role. Likes to be “in the middle”, surrounded by other people, just like in an orchestra.
What's your favourite all time song? Too many to choose….love ballads – anything meaty!
What's your favourite movie? Anything fast paced and action packed that will have me on the edge of my seat
Favourite group? I don’t tend to like “groups”, more, songs…..doesn’t matter who has sung it. Always been a Whitney Houston and Celine Dion fan though. I also LOVE All Angels.
Is there any genre of music you don't like? No. I have preferences but I appreciate all types of music.
Favourite tv show? 24…..gripping!
Favourite Disney movie? Ooohhhh tricky! I love all Disney movies……Mary Poppins
Favourite Animal? Dog
What do you do in your spare time ( hobbies) ? I don’t have a lot of spare time but when I do, I love spending time with my boys, going to their favourite places like the cinema. I also enjoy meeting up with friends for coffee (and cake!) and would like to watch more movies. I sing a lot too – in my kitchen, in the car, anywhere really. I love rehearsing with other like-minded people.
Tell me an interesting fact that people might not know..? When I was about 11, I used to chew bubble gum. I didn't thrown any away though - I would just add to it, chew it, take it out and keep it on the shelf by my bed at night and then chew it again the next day! I had the same (big) piece for quite a few months! Ewwww
