I grew up in South Africa. I cannot remember a time when I did not sing. As a child I sang with my parents and three sisters at many concerts for the elderly and at other events. Our home was always filled with music – my dad played a variety of instruments and we had two pianos to allow all of us to practice. Throughout my childhood I sang in different school and church choirs. After school I considered studying music but decided that I did not have the right temperament – spending many hours practicing piano on my own every day would not work for me.
As a student I sang in the Stellenbosch University Choir for three years. At the time it was the most prestigious choir in the country. No wonder - we rehearsed for three hours, four evenings, every week!
I continued singing in a variety of choirs and choral groups over the years. I also did some solo singing in local shows and in a restaurant. I relocated to the UK in 2009 and joined Salvacosta in 2015.
It has been a great joy to sing with such wonderful people and I look forward to continue the musical journey as a member of Muzaria!
